A native of Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Youri Chassin grew up in the Laurentians. He has been interested in political debates for 20 years and has commented on them regularly in the media.
He began his public life at the FEUQ, where he advocated for quality education, before joining Force jeunesse and the Permanent Council of Youth. In 2010, he was one of the signatories of the Pact for competitive university funding, alongside respected personalities, including former Prime Minister Lucien Bouchard.
Formerly of the Conseil du patronat and CIRANO, he was also director of research at the Montreal Economic Institute (MEI). Youri has been developing a recognized expertise for the last fifteen years on the conditions of a prosperous Quebec.
This committed economist also gives his time for causes that are important to him. Among other things, he is a director of Interligne (formerly Gai Écoute), a helpline and reference on issues of sexual orientation and gender identity.
