Currently residing in Val-d’Or after growing up in Boisbriand and Amos, Pierre Dufour holds a B.A. in political science from the Université de Montréal and a certificate in marketing from HEC Montréal. Since 2015, he is co-owner of the family business, Club Voyages Plamondon, in Amos. He was also general manager of Vallée-de-l’Or CLD for seven years. There, he was able to promote entrepreneurship in the region until the Liberals dismantled the organization.
Pierre has held many high-level management positions during his career: he was general manager of the Office du Tourisme et des Congrès de Val-d’Or and of the Corporation du Village minier for eleven years. He was also part of management of the Foreurs de Val-d’or hockey team for five years. During all this time, he contributed to local economic, tourism and sports development projects in Abitibi and the city of Val-d’Or.
He now wants to move forward and is entering the political fray under the Coalition Avenir Québec banner. Having a definite vision of issues and of the economic needs specific to the Abitibi-Est riding, he hopes to deserve the confidence of his fellow citizens in the October 1st election.
